    "Over capacity" in Imgur?

Has anyone received an "over capacity" error message on Imgur? It tells me to try again later (both iPad and Samsung phone).

No, but do you have a large number of photos stored in your account? I could see how they may have a storage capacity limit for everyone.

Scratch that. I'm reading that they don't have a storage limit, only a limit as to how many images one can upload from one IP address per hour, which is 50.

Also, I don't know if this applies but there is a file size upload limit. You can read more about that specifically here.

      Hope this helps man.

I haven't uploaded any photos yet.

Now, right after I click on the "sign in" prompt, I get the "over capacity" message on both phone and iPad. I can't even get to the name and password screen.

Unfortunately, both my desktop and laptop are on the blink.

          Rob,
On the iPad, if you’re using the Safari browser, try Chrome or another browser if you have one. Or try Clear History and Website Data (cache). It’s in Settings>Safari. I had no issues using Safari last night logging in to your account with your credentials, and uploading two pics for you.

(I didn’t hack Rob’s Imgur account. He shared his info with my so I could try to help.)

I’m at a loss with the capacity message. I’ve never seen that.

Thanks for your help, Rich. I'll try the settings later today.

'Over capacity' may be referring to my brain. It's not as nimble as it used to be. I think my 'hard drive' is full, not to mention extremely fragmented.

I was getting some odd messages from imgBB (connected to imgur) last week, and couldn't upload anything. I suspect their servers are getting creaky or they may be at their limits for a free service without sufficient paying customers. I half expect them to go toes-up or pull a Photobucket on us.

Can someone suggest another site that will work for putting large pics on GSR?

I just took a quick look at Flickr. It said, "start for free." I know what that means. No thank you.

It means you get 1000 pictures for free; more you pay for. Proper management of your account makes that easy and honestly there aren’t many hosting sites out there anyway. Remember, a company has to have servers with drives large enough to host those files and then must be able to upgrade/replace as necessary. Guess what, that costs money on their part

Rob, I've had a Flickr account since 2007, and they've always had a fairly generous free account.
Couple of years ago I went to a Pro account, but they don't pressure you.

Of course it is always possible they will do a "Photobucket" on us, but not likely.

They woke up one day and realised they were circling the drain, so held all their users to ransom.
Pay us $400 per year or lose all your pics, basically, and in the meantime all the pics that had been linked to thousands of forums went blank.
That was the original bone-headed notion that pyssed everyone off.
