In addition to what already has been said; not sure what the "secret sauce" of the GSR is, but methinks a lot is owed to very sensible moderation. The banhammer comes down seldomly (at least to me, as an newbie), and people can still discuss controversial or non-GS topics, but they're properly 'fenced off'.

And then I found that all the stuff I had struggled with on 850G (charging issues mostly), and stuff that I was just starting to understand, was all just common knowlodge amounst many foks here. Quite impressive.
THen in 2005 I meet some of the folks at two GSR rallys (Texas Hil Country, Brown County), and have been more impressed since then.

Guess I was a bit ahead of you on the computer. My first home toy was a top-of-the-line device at the time (1985) . It was an Atari that came with ONE MEGABYTE of memory and both 51/4 and 3 1/2 floppy disc ports!Bertrand Russell: 'Men are born ignorant, not stupid. They are made stupid by education.'

1985... same year as my bike. I was 13 years old and wouldn't hear of a GS for close to another decade.sigpic

Its a good group here. FB groups have their place but not the same. Someone recently rescued xs11.com forum and switched it to a .club and I was glad not to lose all that info. Hopefully nothing bad ever happens over here. As I have looked around here lately some of the old names I see are absent from recent activity but alot of you are still here. And I think some of you actually still own a GS, which is a good thing!

Reading through the thread I'm certain the two CBX forums that I frequented both went quiet at the same time those forums opened a corresponding page on Facebook. I'm not joining Facebook now or anytime in the future so as long as GSR doesn't go all in on Facebook I'll be here. I don't need to worry about my other vintage Suzuki site Oldskoolsuzuki.info going quiet as their absolutely hostile to facebook.1979 CBX, AW440 Maico, GS1150EF
