How to get a great deal on Gas.

I have been meaning to post this. Gas is selling for $2.99 to $3.15 in my area. The deal is Sam's Club. I just filled up there for $2.68. If you buy the normal Sam's Card it costs $45, and right now there is a $45 rebate= free card. You go to the pumps outside Sam's, put in your Sam's card. It reads it and asks for your payment card. It authorizes the payment card and you pump your gas. I don't know how long the rebate lasts, so don't put it off. The meat quality there is superb, along with a lot of other things.

Sam's is my number 1 stop for gas. Back in the summer, I happened to see the delivery driver there on a couple of visits and commented to him that it was just my luck to see him on his delivery day. He replied that would not be so unusual, as he was in there, making a delivery three times EVERY DAY. It's a busy place, the gas is always fresh.

Thanks for the heads up metalfab. With gas at that price the savings on two tanks alone would pay for the membership, let alone the rebate.

I used to get Sam's Club gas all the time, but didn't feel like the $100/yr or so membership was really worth it otherwise so we let it lapse.

We have a Sam's Club and a Costco nearby and they both have exactly the same prices, typically between $.10 to $.30 lower than anywhere else. I suspect they are selling the gas at cost or at a fixed percentage of wholesale. But I also live on the "cheap" side of town where there's usually a station or two that comes close enough to that.
