    I have enjoyed this thread very much. I think the important thing here is to know what’s enough and plan for it. If things go well and your goal is exceeded so much the better. But you gotta know what is enough.

      Most don't have the option to start in the military at 10 years old like you Gustov...

      2022-2007 = 15 years.
      70-15 =55 to retire
      -25 years at Boeing = 30
      -20 years in the army = 10 years old (I'm just being facetious here, I'm sure there's some rounding errors).

      I started working about 25 hrs a week whilst still in high school, paid through college & bought an apartment at 22. Compared to some of my peers that early work helped a lot but one of the biggest things that helped me was moving to the US & overnight downsizing from a 3 bed place I didn't really need to a small one bedroom... A few years of that really boosted the coffers

      I guess I'm also somewhat lucky - if the medical thing ever gets too much I can get on a plane and move back to Europe.... I don't see my Mrs wanting to move to TN somehow!
