China wants to set a good example

This is unexpected in the world of sports, but China wants to set a "good example for society" and is banning tattoos on football/soccer players.

That pretty well sums it up.

I am not a fan of tattoos, but the notion that China even might be setting a good example seemed well beyond ridiculous

My favorite is the Mao-inflicted famine of the early '60's. When I didn't want to finish my veggies, Mom would say, "They're starving in China." (20 mil dead?)

my mrs is chinese(canadian born) so I have a good insight into the culture, putting up a false front to save "Face" is all important. Image is important to all of us but it's at a different level with Chinese, their government will go ridiculous denials to save face, Tiananmen Square massacre never happened. The wife's parents initially horrified by the massacre now won't even discuss it, as if it never really happened.

the scope of the following poem, which was written at the end of WW2, is not at all limited to the Chinese, but it seems to apply directly to them.
First they came for the Communists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Communist
Then they came for the Socialists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Socialist
Then they came for the trade unionists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a trade unionist
Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew
            Then they came for me
And there was no one left
            To speak out for me

My mother tried that approach, too. I just pushed my veggies toward her and said "I'll share, let me know how much the postage is". She was NOT pleased.

China is at the top of the Big Brother of the Year Award list every damned time. What a scummy country.

And yet Ke'Shawn Vaughn added ink to celebrate last year, and he was a rookie in 2019:
