Ed, you can't pick the Cincinnati Bengals to win the Super Bowl. Because I am picking them to win the Super Bowl, and we know we can't be rooting for the same team! Plus I already call it, way back when the Browns were officially out of the playoffs. Also if I remember correctly, you were going against the Bengals earlier in the playoffs. No jumping ship. 🤔

Thanks for reading my ramblings on Rob’s thread. I guess it's a subject that has long been a part of my early life. Now that the Rams are in it, I should be rooting for "the Lambs", I mean, Rams!

We can pick the same team to win and I can change my mind if I want to...I sound like a woman there...no offense to anyone, but I am married and speak/type with experience.

In my earlier days, I would have been resentful of any team that knocked my ball club out...hence TB and “the tuck rule". But, I've grown up since then...at least, I want to think I have. Anyway, this is why I'm reviewing games and putting my thoughts on this thread.

Once the day is done...and I'm talking next week Super Sunday, we won't be talking about this game. So, I'm going to milk it for the time being.

As for the 4th Qtr of CIN @ KC, my goodness was there mistakes on both sides of the ball:

Burrow on the run and instead of throwing the ball out of bounds, he throws it at a KC defender who should have intercepted it.

Then, Mahomes scrambles on a 3rd and goal gets sacked and has the kicker kick a longer FG...which he made to tie the game and send it to OT.

THEN! The crowd assumed that because KC won the coin toss, the game was sealed.

KC did not play like they did the week before driving on the exhausted Bills Defense. Mahomes threw a potential INT pass that could have won the game for the Bengals, but it was dropped.

THEN! Mahomes throws a long pass into double coverage that was batted into the hands of a Bengals DB and viola! The bengals got their chance.

Bengals drove down the length of the field and kicked a short FG and Bang! Bob's your uncle the Bengals are going to the SB.

I just hope this SB has the same excitement the 2021 NFL Playoffs had since the Wildcard games.

Definitely inject your feedback before/during the game. I found my NFL SB DVDs and watching SB XVI & SB XXIII...both Bengals vs Niners.

Two different coaches: Forrest Gregg & Sam Wyche. Gregg being the first coach to be in a SB as a player (GB Packers) and a coach and the other who worked under Bill Walsh as an assistant.

I'm looking forward to this Super Sunday game.

I went ahead and made the eBay purchase!

It's been a while and I had to update/change my password.

Looking at the Rams Offense...Kupp is a darn good receiver...catching the first TD for the Rams. They've got a tandem receiver corp with Odell Beckham Jr too.

Stafford looks good in the pocket...at times getting sacked. He just needs to take off "on the run" sooner but he's normally not an "escape from the pocket" artist. Still...he's exciting to watch.

My roots are in LA and I remember players like Lawrence McCutcheon and Jackie Slater who were excellent players...as was Wendell Tyler and Vince Feragamo. I can't think of the receiver corp from back then without googling...

I may have to watch SB XIV from 1980 to refresh my memory.

I wanna say....GO RAMS! lol

I found out by watching SB XIV that the Rams had the worse winning record going to the SB.

The Raiders were the lowest seeded Wildcard to win a SB at the time when they beat the Eagles in SB XV.

It's great viewing these older SB narrated by John Facenda. I liked the other guys (Harry Kalas & producer Steve Sabol) but John just won me over with his voice and how emphasis was placed at just the right point.

Can't wait for the next decade series arrives next week.

I watched the 4th Qtr of the Rams vs Niners game...oh, boy!

Stafford should have been intercepted on an "under thrown" pass but the DB fumbled it out of his hands. That could have changed the outcome of the game because the Rams were running out of time.

Cooper Kupp made some game changing catch & runs and even scored a TD. I think he might be a key player in the SB.

Heck, Odell Beckham Jr is another target receiver that can be dangerous for opponents.

Once Garopollo made his error throwing the ball underhand and it was picked off, it was "lights out" for the Niners.

I'm gonna have to agree with Troy Aikman's statement just before the Rams/Niners game on who will win:

"In Playoff football, it's the player who makes the fewest mistakes."

Both QBs have been reckless with the ball so it will come down to who makes the best decisions facing fierce defenses on both sides of the ball.

In preparation for tomorrow's Super Sunday, I thought it good to have bone-in wings...pre-seasoned. I could only find BBQ...which is fine because I normally have traditional mild flavor.

As a reminder, our family upgraded from a 42' Viera plasma flat screen TV (bought in 2008) that was flickering To A 65" LG NanoCell from BestBuy on Jan 16, 2022.

It's currently sitting on the entertainment table but will be wall-mounted on Feb 22. Got a great deal on the TV to include extended warranty by purchasing TotalTech Membership. Which also includes mounting our TV with membership.

So, I'm set! No one in my family really watches NFL games like I do but I'll be having a pleasant experience...also DVR-ing the game for later analysis before this thread goes into archives.

So, the only thing left to do is "Go Full Force" with selecting a WINNER!

I'm sure you can guess which team that is.
