    "It Followed Me Home"

I picked up my new motorcycle yesterday. It's a Kawasaki Z900 RS in Candy Tone Blue. It's the same paint scheme as the 1975 KZ900.
It was cold yesterday -6° when left to get the U-haul trailer. But no snow and most importantly, the roads were dry. I picked up the motorcycle in Butler Pennsylvania, about 60 miles from my home.

I'm looking forward to adding some bling. I already have the lower style seat ordered. Next I want that chrome loop/grab rail that goes around the back part of the seat. I'm reading about doing a "reflash". The last "reflash" I did was bigger pistons and carburetors on my 81 1100e! So this is a little different I'd guess.

So now it's January 28th, it's cold and snowy in northeast Ohio. I'm just sitting here waiting for warmer weather. Why do I do this to myself? Well with all the shipping snafus happening now. And the dealers not knowing what they'll get and when they'll get them.... I figured let's get it now while the gettin' is good... And boy is it good!🙂

      Nice Score Norm.
I do like the styling of that bike, and the color choice.

Had me fooled (paint). I immediately thought Z1-b (1975). I thought, "Wow, what a big oil cooler."

Interested to hear any details you care to share ($). Me being me, HP, torque, 1/4 mile and top speed are of interest.

          Well done.

2016 XL883L sigpic Two-tone blue and white. Almost 42 hp! Status: destroyed, now owned by the insurance company. The hole in my memory starts an hour before the accident and ends 24 hours after.

I was torn between the Z900RS and the Bonneville T120 when I was looking to get my modern classic. After miles on a T120 the Engine was more suited to my style of riding... Plus Cruise control and heated grips nodded me in that direction for touring creature comforts.

The Z900RS is a fantastic bike, I love the look, the quality in the paint, they nailed it! Proper UJM!

Reflashes are great but I would recommend looking at upgrading the whole exhuast before sending out the ECU as stock exhausts are restrictive and heavy. I dropped 20lbs out of my T120 going to a complete aftermarket plus far better flow. Same with the FJ-09.

The T120 (and Monkey) actually have an app where I can burn maps directly to the ECU and adjust trims from my cell phone... Gone are the plastic boxes with jets and shims. Once you get the hang of adjusting trims it's cake.

Do you send the ECU out or is there an app option for the Kawasaki? I know for my 2016 Yamaha I had to send the ECU out for a flash giving all my upgrade options so the map was correct.

Lastly, Congrats!!! That thing would be right at home in Vermont... Just saying

Nice looking bike! Seems the choices these days are the same old laid back cruiser or something that looks like an insect.

Congrats, Been drooling over those 900's for a couple of yrs. If I were buying new, it would be that bike but in the root beer & orange color. Have read complaints of throttle being too sensitive on the first ones, hard to hold a constant speed...probably corrected by now.

"Root beer & orange" - I guess that's what you'd call my original 1973 Z1. One of the most gorgeous bikes of all time. And "throttle too sensitive"? Be still my heart!
