Hahaha... errr... yeah that's right
Will have to lay some bricks on the end closest to the camera then I can finalise the plans and get building. You can't see it in that photo but there's a drop of about 150mm from that end to the farthest end, so I'm using the bricks to keep the moisture away from the actual walls as much as possible.1982 GS450E - The Wee Beastie

This is a pretty cool rebuild, imagine what it was like when that engine was built. Ducati would have been a small workshop with a few guys putting the bikes together.
Are those spark plugs still available?

Cheers mate, and yeah it wouldn't be anything like today!
Pretty sure I can get a suitable spark plug, but I also need crankshaft bearings and an ignition coil... I think the ignition coil will be the most difficult bit.
The good news is I have some funds now so as soon as time and the weather cooperate I can get the concrete down for the shed and I'll also be able to get the bearings and start the hunt for the ignition coil real soon.1982 GS450E - The Wee Beastie

Awesome. I was wondering if you had that shed built yet. Hopefully you can get it done soon, with this bloody humidity I recon we are in for a decent storm.

Mate it's killing me! By the time I get to work in the morning I feel like I've been swimming... still can't bring myself to ditch the jacket though!
The hole for the concrete is getting close to celebrating it's first birthday so I've gotta get it done soon...1982 GS450E - The Wee Beastie

I know how you feel. I ended up driving today because it is beyond ridiculous.
I need to find a jacket with aircon. Wonder if they make them...

The EntroSys BikeAir motorcycle air conditioning system provides a comfortable micro-climate under the protective gear, reducing heat and cold fatigue thus enhancing rider safety.
Well I'll be damned....

Well this is not a huge update, but for me the way things have been going it's a pretty exciting one...
One set of crankshaft bearings delivered today
Bit hard to photograph them through the plastic but I'll leave them all sealed up until I'm ready to install them.
I'll be a bit short on time this month due to an upcoming certification exam and a holiday for our wedding anniversary, but now I have something to do and look forward to when time permits.1982 GS450E - The Wee Beastie

None at all I'm afraid... I can't get motivated on this at all unfortunately. The problem I've discovered is that while I love working on bikes, it's got to have a practical end result, and I won't ever really be able to ride this so there's no real driver to get it done.
I'm probably going to try to sell it soon to raise funds for a project I have major motivation to do... a Katana.1982 GS450E - The Wee Beastie
