Looks like the project is still making progress. Going to look nice when it's done. I kind of have a soft spot for the FZ. Mine had 100,000 kms on it when sold it. Here's an old photo Wizard sent me from a trip in 1989. Supertrapp slip-ons are great for warming your hands on. It was about 0 celius that day at about 13,000 ft in Rocky Mountain National Park. Anyway note the RZ rotors to replace the stock warped ones. Those laminated rotors just didn't like heat. Also, I think you've got the small case guards and yes they do work very well. Colour is Ford Wimbleton White, tank decal is from the belly fairing of a '86 FZ1000. A lot of good times on that bike.

Thanks....it's moving along, one bit at a time....

Nice pic, must have been a nice ride, even if it was a bit on the chilly side....

I am looking at some newer rotors, but that is latter, I will use up the stock ones and then get some of those wave styled ones, I hope...

Yes I do have the case guards, was not sure about putting them back on, but I might change my mind, I'll see how the rest turns out..

I will do this one all black, I already have my GS in a black/white scheme, so I don't want to do the same....this one is going stealth....

My son just got back from Pennsylvania with a buddy who lives there and here, and they went over to the next town\city and there it was....so he grabbed me a can...

Now, mind you reading the other thread on this stuff, and the code on this can, it's not the Professional stuff, but I am bloody sure it's got to work better than the PineSol.....

              Sides and Back

Well got some of the tins back, my buddy Spyug has been working on the bits, and after i dropped off my rims for powder coating, I stopped by his place to grab what he a]has finished up so far for me, and I do like what he has done, fixed up the bits, added nubs where they were missing, sanded everything down, gave it all a coat of primer......

              WAY TO GO !!!!!!

I almost got the front cowling, but after closer inspection of his own work he did not like a few spots, so he held that back to do a bit more sanding and finessing.....

So I will and can only show off what I was given so far....

I dropped of my tank, front fender and solo seat cover, he is going to give them a once over as well, good buddies are hard to come by, and Spyug is a keeper for sure....Thanks buddy...and maybe these will get you cheered up a bit...

well as always a few pictures....

The metal tabs were off, or the new plastic tabs were, but a bend in the metal tabs and all is OK...

                Tank Repair

Well, I am at a standstill, I have nothing that I can do at the moment, so my good buddy Spyug is working away to make the tins presentable, for this upcoming season....

And he is doing a great job.....

Thanks GK but I don't think I should give up my day job.....but then again after all the issues I'm having with it, I just might.

Shame about that tail piece but I can fix those tabs. I just took a guess at the angle since mine aren't there either. I have that gap too but with proper fitting tabs that should be taken up.

I'm into priming the tank this morning and I've done the metal etching and scratch fill primer and now I'm seeing a couple of low spots so back to a bit more filling. I'm also working on the "bum pad" for the seat cowl and I'll try and finish up that fairing. Funny how things look good in the workshop with halogen lighting but the flaws turn up in broad daylight. No problem, I have lots of sandpaper and filler and the weather isn't letting up without a fight so I'll keep working away.

Soon friends, very soon, we be riddin

                      Tank fixing....

Well my buddy Spyug is a machine, he is not letting up, and it seems he is shy of his work to post here, but I will do it for him....

The parts are going to be awesome, I can see that even in the pictures...

                          Rims Done....

Well, sent my rims out for powder coating, found a place that was willing to do it for a modest price, well something I was able to justify....and what a job they did....

I did clean them as best I could, but the place still bead blasted them once more, and gave them a phosphorus rinse, then applied the powder coat, baked and,,,,WOW what a nice nice job....

I have to let the pictures speak for them selves...
