Well Saturday I finished getting the "new" K1100RS ready.

I moved several parts from the "old" K11RS to the "new" one.

      Seat - Corbin for Corbin
Rear shock - Replaced the stock one with my Ikon
Fork tubes - The ones from the old bike had Sonic springs and I just rebuilt them, including all new bushings
Handlebar assembly - To move the heated grips
The ignition switch and all the lock cylinders - The keys were in better shape on my old bike and the new one had a funky hard bag lock
And moved the luggage rack over

Found several missing or incorrect screws/bolts/nuts when pulling the fairings off...All fixed now
      Dang POs

Wife and I went for about 150 miles yesterday and all is well. It was the wife's first ride since the accident and she was glad to get out.

Still not as smooth as the "old" bike, probably needs the throttle bodies balanced.

      All for now...

I don't know how I missed this thread.....I didn't know you had a replacement. Looks great.

Not a problem..."other bikes" is not visited much.

She seems to be a good bike...looks way better than the old one, but not as well cared for underneath.
I think it must have sat for several years and was just cleaned up well.
Lots of cobwebs underneath, cracked rubber, rusty areas and such...I am sure I paid too much...but, oh well.
I'll have it up to my standards soon....

Thanks Dan, I'll pass that along.
She is still nervous about more serious twisties, but are going on a short, no stress, three day ride July 12th up in our normal, SW Wisconsin area.
One day up by ourselves, one day with a group from my motobrick.com forum, so we if we have to bail, it won't be a problem, and one day back.

Isn't that the bit she's worried about

Great to see that you're both getting out & about again so soon.

Next birthday we'll buy her an intercom so she can scream in your ear
