I also got most of the new radiator hoses installed and removed all the old fuel lines and they will get replaced tonight.
I got the new studs installed for the exhaust and everything got a nice coat of anti-seize on all the threads. Hopefully next time I have to remove exhaust I will be able to get the nuts off with out any major hassle. BMW uses a nut that deforms when you tighten them down to secure them so I am installing some nice nylock nuts.
Now the next project will be to clean up the top of the engine and get the new fuel lines installed. There had been some debate as to the cams that are installed in my bike. Early production 85 models did not have this breather and they were installed in later 85's. The 85's have a hotter cam than were used in 86 but I am not sure what date the 86 cams started getting installed. I will have to look it up by VIN and see what I have. I got all new clamps since BMW likes to use ones that you need a tool to crimp. Its going to be a big job to work around all the wires running everywhere on this bike. They use a hall sensor for ignition timing and the cover is on the front of the engine so I will definitely have to be careful. And I am hoping that the fuel regulator is in working worder since the bike ran before it should run after im all done but you never know. I am just not planning on replacing it at this time.
Rest of tonight will be spent getting the trany remounted and maby if I have time I can even get the swing arm and tire mounted.
