The only potential problem would be negative pressure in the space if heat is going to be gas, propane or oil- combustion type in other words. I didnt see what type of heat is being installed.
Not sure which way I will be going on a permanent HVAC system yet. Mrs. Steve got a brand-new torpedo-style high-output kerosene-fired unit at an auction a couple of months ago, with the new garage in mind. Will probably use it a bit in a couple of weeks to see how it does.

I have considered a small evacuation unit that can be placed over a bike's exhaust pipe(s) and blown outside. That will evacuate the noxious fumes without creating too much negative pressure.

We have a Sola Tube installed in our front bathroom in the house. After installing it, we kept reaching in to turn the light off whenever we walked by. Yes, it's GREAT. With the windows around the garage, it shouldn't be too bad. The light tubes might interfere a bit with the insulation that is planned, will have to see. The inside is not going to be finished out until after I have had a chance to be out there for a bit to see where I want to put "stuff".

The stairs going up are 42" wide, no need for anything much wider than that. Once up there, the floor is 10' wide. Because of my height, I can only walk easily down the center, but it's still going to be a path at least 3' wide.
The stairs will be installed tomorrow (Thursday), we will see how close they install them to the plans. I will be working near home tomorrow, will have to stop by and check on it.

What you need to ask for are "attic trusses". If it were a larger area with a potential for more weight-bearing, they would have required "storage trusses", which have a thicker beam along the bottom in the central area.

Ignore that bright spot over the door. Just a bit of water in the air, the flash must have caught one of the drops.

Looks a lot more friendly with some flooring in the attic. You can see where the stairs will come up at the far end.

Shingles tomorrow, siding either tomorrow or Friday.
Brick arrives tomorrow, will go up Friday.
Windows on Friday, overhead door over the weekend.

Not really wanting to torpedo your idea but there has been a few threads on here about the effects of those. This one http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum...ion&highlight= comes to mind.Basic problem seems to be they create water vapor.Great looking space BTW

                  Punny, very punny.

The torpedo is temporary. Just trying to get through the sticker shock of the new building, will have something better by next cold season.

Power everywhere.... in the ceiling & floor if poss as well as near your benches & loads of lights! If you have a bike lift consider putting walk on led lighting in the floor below it to help get rid of the shadows.

Heated padded flooring in key work areas might be really nice too...

Too late to put power in the floor, but there will be power all around the walls, and on several different circuits.

In the ceiling? Thanks for the reminder. I have some twist-lock connectors that were removed from a discontinued project at work a few years ago. They would work well in the ceiling.

Have not seen (or even thought of) heated padding, but I already use some of the cheapo floor mats from Harbor Freight in my current garage. It is attached to the house and can be heated, but you are right, that extra bit of insulation under the feet is wonderful.

I'm in the planning stages of my shop now, and I've been considering radiant heat in the concrete floor. The buy-in is a killer. My shop will likely be 30'x40', and it's looking like the entire system will be $4-5k installed. I'm sure I'll love it come winter, but it's hard to pull the trigger.

                            The roof is done.

The stairs are in. Will need to frame the door for access under them (where I plan on putting the compressor).

The end walls of the attic are framed.

The brick for the front wall is here, should be put up on Friday.

It's all happening rather quickly, now. Siding on the other three sides will probably happen Friday, as well, along with the windows. About all that will be left is trenching for utilities and final grading.
