OK...so like I need yet another bike...right???

Larry..took the carbs out Sunday and all the bodies went right in the dip..have three can of the Berrymans and just double up in one can. I got up at 5AM and got them out of the dip and washed under hot water and some carb spray before going to work.
Left work today at 4 PM and got the carbs reassembled and stuffed back in. New plugs all the way around and got the wires on the right plugs according to the service manual. Turn on the fuel, full choke, and crank so the bowls would fill up..took maybe 30 seconds and then VROOM!!
Lots of rich gas smelling smoke as the gas from the PO fiddling with it and filling the exhaust. This lasted a few minutes and then cleared off. Not so much as a whiff of oil smoke guys!! Adjusted the idle at 1200 and let it sit and run to see if the temp gauge worked. Yup good temp gauge.
Let it run till she tripped the temp sensor and the fan came on so i let it cycle and shut off..then it came back on again as would be expected. Was on center stand so I clicked thru all the gears and then back down..perfection.
Proceeded to check lights, horn, kill switch, turn signals, and brake lights...all work as they should. Next is the routine maintenance, carb sync, and some cleaning of the dust and dirt behind the covers and along the frame. So, as of 8:45 PM we now have a fully operable Goldwing.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)

Yeah.. I was mad at myself for not remembering the camera. Lots of time for that though. I will throw it in the truck so I wont forget. Pondering whether I should take the tank off and slosh some Acetone around just to be certain there isnt some floaties. You'll be amazed at the sensory deprivation that you'll experience when you ride it, Chuck. It's so smooth and so quiet, it's almost alarming. Honda's auto engineering dept. came up with the engine design, so it has a definite "car quality" to it. The first Goldwing I ever rode was one exactly like the one you have and it blew us all away at the dealership I worked at. Deceptively fast for the time. They'll willingly sit on 90mph all day if you wish to. Such cool bikes.1979 GS1000S,

2016 XL883L sigpic Two-tone blue and white. Almost 42 hp! Status: destroyed, now owned by the insurance company. The hole in my memory starts an hour before the accident and ends 24 hours after.

Guy told me on Ebay it will probably be sent back to Japan or the Middle East..guess thats a hot spot for vintage bike now. Anyway he thinks in the range of 2,500 to 3,200 as a final bid..and maybe a bit more on the right day when that guy that just has to have one sees it.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)
