    LOL...Yup Ed. I have had a very very good and long run of bikes that had no real issues other than needing some TLC and maintenance updates.

    What am I to do with this!!! Got money in it from the jump so its either dig a big hole or do it up right. Got everything on hand except the bearing and the 1 valve spring. Waiting on some deliveries and then start reassembly.

    I degreased and power washed the frame this morning. Get a few warmer days and it will get painted. Engine will be degreased and repainted also. Then it will be on to new body paint. Like i said in another post..In for a penny..In for a pound at this point!!!

        Not much more to take pics of Jeep!!! More pics will come as I get into the actual rebuilding work. I got a line on another complete parts bike for cheap. Guy had taken the two and three plugs out for whatever reason and water got in and rusted up the cylinders

        Anyway I can use the better parts from each bike and then sell off whatever is left to recoup a little of the parts bike cost. Probably get the parts bike Wednesday or Thursday. It has a titled frame, so that will for sure be for sale. Maybe run a Clist parts add for the left overs at some point.

        I will of course let everyone here know as well should they need any 83 / 84 650 nighthawk parts.

            That OR he stripped them in the head..No worries though as I dont need a head. Then again I can always run some Timeserts in them if they are stripped and have a good head to sell or as a spare.

              Got confirmation the tranny bearing and the valve spring have been shipped. just waiting on a retainer clip for the cam chain tentioner to ship and get here. Damned thing fell and I could have sworn it went down the tunnel. But upon splitting the cases and removing everything it isnt inside. I went thru every MM of the engine and even swept all the cracks and crannies with a magnet and never came up with it so had to order another. I am 100% sure it isnt in the engine.

                Got the gauges all spiffied up today. Took the old old paint off the control levers as well. One was still pretty black but the clutch side was worn and faded so now they are both bare silver aluminum. Still waiting on the valve spring to show up so I am doing a lot of the little detail things.

                  Been three weeks or so looking on Ebay for NOS piston rings. Set of 4 showed up tonight for 68.00 and free shipping. They are heading my way. Last parts I should need......

                    Well I got the engine all back together as far up as the new piston rings installed. Gotta pick up some radiator hose clamps to act as ring compressors. Still waiting on the lone valve spring to show up..probably sitting on one of those ships on the west coast!!

                    Had to order the gear case gasket and the shifter cover gasket...dang Veshra kit didnt have them in it. Got a way to go yet and will pick at it again soon as I get the time.

                      OH HAPPY DAY!!! The valve spring came today so this weekend should see the engine finally reassembled.

                        Short of putting the valve cover on the engine is back together. Now its move on to doing some frame painting, degreasing and stripping the engine for repainting, and polishing all the covers.

                          Finally got the gear position sensor and the shifter shaft seals in and installed them Saturday. Got the cam cover sanded best I could to try and work down some of the pitting and then ran it on the buffer machine. Looks decent enough for now.

                          Might have it chromed at some point.

                              Nope. got the engine all done. Still up on the bench. Was waiting for some more steady warmer weather to do the degreasing / power washing / repainting of it. Got some sanding done on the frame but thats not fully ready yet either.

                              Was planning on doing some more frame prep Sunday actually.
