A future project
For some time now, I've been planning to buy a Series I or II XJ6 and use John's Cars' kit to install a small block Chevy. I'm getting close to being ready to do this. The kits are a lot easier to install with a carbureted motor. Anyone have solid experience with a reasonably fuel efficient but solid on power carb of around 600 cfm or so? The motor will be a stock 350 with a mild cam and decent intake plus John's headers. In all truth, I'd like it to make about 250 hp/ 300 lb ft and get good gas mileage."Thought he, it is a wicked world in all meridians; I'll die a pagan."

When consulting the magic 8 ball for advice, one must first ask it "will your answers be accurate?"

The best way to get good MPG out of an older SBC is to keep your foot out of it.
Seriously, good luck with the project!
