I bet your laws are similar, but BMW might not advertise the fact.
Yeah I found out today that I can for sure do oil changes and I will be doing at least that from now on.

They always give me a loaner, even for oil changes, And get this, their employee came to my house at 7:45 this morning and dropped the 1000r off to me and rode mine into the shop. Didn't even get out of my pj's.

At those prices, I'd fly from Ireland to your house.

Face it Trevor, we're just a bunch of cheapskates. We even drive down the value of our own beloved GSs.

Automotive makers in Europe have twice (or more) tried the sneaky trick of lobbying for legislation for compelling owners to have their vehicles serviced and repaired only by authorised dealers. It caused such a furore they backed down and such attempts backfired on them, as for once the European Parliament found some balls and actually made it legally acceptable for a 'competent' owner to do his own servicing and repairs - as long as they were to a high standard the warranty wouldn't be affected.

                          Paper towels
Electricity for lights to see your bike
Candy bar for mechanic because he forgot lunch
Snack crackers from vending machine because he was real hungry
Air for tires and air tools
                          Water for washing hands
                          Soap for you bending over

...interesting that they use 5w40 oil? I suppose with a dry clutch.

Funniest one I saw was for superglue on a bill for my Mother's car. I had to ask. They dropped something in a plug hole and had to go fishing with glue on the end of a stick.
