Probably even worse as a pillion than the B-King. Nothing wrong with shafties, and lots good about them if you can get past the bit of hp they cost. Looove the cleanliness and low maintenance, especially on a touring rig.

No Rob, No... There were 3 at the dealer we went to today... Ouch. Thought the BK had a cramped seating position.

I've been interested in the FJR, why the Connie over the FJR in your case?

Here's the few reasons I noted:
Larger engine in the Connie and it has VVT. I felt the Connie had a more lively engine.
6th gear on the Connie. 6th is a true OD. Drops the Rpms about 800 RPMs from a 5th to 6th gear change. 3K rpms at interstate cruising speeds.
Gauge cluster and styling, I like the Connie better ( that's totally IMO)
Best shaft drive on the market (that is what I've read and it feels like a chain drive bike)
Transmission... I'm not the biggest fan of Yammy trans anyway but this transmission on the Connie is like butter, no clunks, no dead spots, no toughness... Awesome
SMOOOOOTH, The FJR had some buzziness to it. The Connie is crazy smooth and relaxed while cruising.
Best Seat for me and my primary passenger.

Jedz is like the 11 on Spinal Tap. The FJR is a 9, for the rational world.

The Connie is by far the smoothest bike I've ever owned. The shaft drive and the motor make almost no noise... You hear caliper whine when you hit the brakes over everything else... Power loss is there, she's not fast like the BK but it's not slow by any stretch either. For a fully dressed bike the thing is actually, kinda stupid fast.

I got it today, rode 150 miles south to pick it up... The 150 miles home after the ride down with the BK was pure bliss in comparison. Adjustable screen is the frickin' bee knee's. Ahh man I'm hot, down goes the screen and I cool right down. Man the wind is blasting me too much, up goes the screen and I'm getting hit with no wind and my muscles instantly relax. Oof What have I been missing!?!?

Then the Mrs. stopped by to have lunch with me, she sat on the back the whole time... Can't wait to take it out on our 2 up adventures!

Well, she looks to be in good shape... (the bike too!) On mine I had to change the seat because it slopes slightly towards the tank. With my wife behind me and the brakes applied, I'd find myself speaking in a higher voice from time to time. I bought a Corbin and it was the end of that issue. I see it also has the stock potato launcher, mine does as well. A nice and quiet pipe, but I wouldn't mind getting an Area P or Muzzy or something, just for looks alone...

Your review on riding it matches my experience very closely. Hope you continue to like it.

Is the Corbin hard? The Corbin on the BK was torture after 100 miles. I sat on a BK they had on the floor with a stock seat and it felt better to me.

We did 120 miles today and we are both no worse for the wear. Didn't notice a sliding issue for me today. But I think I may go with a sheepskin cover for my only complaint is the seat doesn't let my butt breath. Other then that it's perfect. Lol I think we did more miles today then we did together total on the BK. We did 70 miles once and it killed us. Today we could have done 120 more and been totally fine.

It's a better bike for my needs hands down. I'm/we are falling in love with this one.

Yes, the Corbin is firm, but it is shaped very well, as in there aren't any hot spots. The whole seat issue seems to be a very individual preference. Here's a good story of a guy who did a very demanding Iron Butt ride on a C14 with a Corbin. He supplemented the Corbin with an Airhawk as well. Here is a photo of mine with the Corbin. Notice that it is a heated seat, that doubles the cost of the thing... but someone had to have it! (not me). The only other things I did to it was to install some bar risers and a larger more useful luggage rack. (This photo has the stock rack)

Ahhh Diablo Black! I was looking at a black one as well but the liquid metal blue tugged my heart strings more... That's one thing about this bike that people seem to do... Change for preference not for upgrade and it's all based on personal opinions. I need to install a givi monokey plate so I can use my 49L top case. I want handle bar risers and I think if the wind screen was only a few inches taller it would be perfect, so a V-stream is likely in the cards. I love the seat, just need to get some air under my bum and I would be confident I could do 500 mile days without breaking a sweat!

Soon you will be talking Iron Butt riding, and that a 500 mile day is BEFORE lunch !
Eventually you will look to add a Goldwing (maybe not) to the stable -
I LOVE my GS850 - it is fun to ride and relaibale and unique --
But I will ALWAYS have a Goldwing in the garage as well.
The Connie is a fabulous bike and capable of anything you want to do and two up is no issue.
I have always liked the styling of the sport tourers but my big fat belly likes the wide open space of the Wing a bit more than the sit in the frame sportys.
Plan a long trip and go have a lot of fun !

HAHA, I took the bags off last night and scooted around, The bike is ridiculously fast for it's size, power is so smooth but pulls so hard after 60pmh, IT doesn't slow it's acceleration down a bit before 120mph... Handles just as well, brakes are even better.

The little lady and I did entertain the idea of a Goldwing, She shot it down for it was too big and (she said it not me) it's an old man bike. Since the new bike was going to be a bike we can both enjoy (and I can ride daily) The Kawi won out. I will likely own a Wing one day, Not yet though...
I love this bike, 700 miles on it since Saturday afternoon. It's an all day ride and find myself riding twice the distance as before.

A ride up route 14... Awesome day for it, bike ran like a top! Views were stunning!

I'd love to make my way out to you guys this year... We will see but my summer is looking pretty full from here till September . I Plan on going to Brown County GSR rally next year. That's a fact!

IT's worth the extra buck to get a bike like this if you do allot of 2 up or long distance traveling... Keep it to your self, I told my Girl about the sport touring class, next thing you know we both are looking at bikes together. IT's allot of fun to tie 2 things I love together.

Somehow, I knew she would be a lot more comfortable on that bike than the BKing. I had the way back '86 Connie but it was top heavy and a tall bike for my liking. Nice looking bike you got. Here's my pic of your bike's grandfather...
