That was a score. The 450 is very sought after bike.

I picked up a GL850L for 200.00. Had the engine running the other day. A father owned it and the son was to finish the rest of the restoration. That did not happen. The tank has holes on the sides. The son bought a harley, the 850 sat under a carport covered doing nothing. I bought a 1100 GSL tank to go on it. Nice tank!!!

Wow, that's a $1500 bike already. Can't believe how unmolested it is other than the handlebars. Scrambler model.

Great buy. I would get it in tune with a fresh carburetors and leave it right there. Only original once, something to think about.

Bet for now I can cut the cross member out and find another set of bars at some point.

As far as i know it was only the CL Scramblers that got the cross-member bars. That fiche shows different.

Dont cut, find proper bars. It's no biggie running scrambler bars.

I will eventually find stockers, but for now it make it look correct was my point.

Understood, don't cut. Most people won't know the difference.

Nice bike, Chuck. It cleaned up pretty well. Leaving it the way it is would be kinda cool, but I couldn't keep my hands off it. I'd have to fix the dent and repaint it, replace the rear fender and tail light assembly, get all the rubber parts, tires replaced and put a set of 400F bars on it. Perfect. You could easily have less then $1,500 in it.

Larry.. The backrest came off today and I got the aluminum polish out and did the pipes and they look pretty darn good right now. I have a new set of stock bars, the new ignition switch and fork lock set ( he didnt have a key but he had the title ), a new front brake switch, new brake and clutch lever, and a gas cap gasket on the way. Probably at 600.00 in it right now I would guess.
