    1982 CB900f

    A few members have these. I have seen them with the "boomerang" style Comstars in gold and wonder whether, aside from the CX500/650 Turbos, such wheels were ever used on Honda models in the U.S.

    I registered here right after I got my 900F. They should be able to answer your questions.

    1982 GS1100 G converted by Motorcyclist magazine in 1986 to be a tribute to the Wes Cooley replica. 1982 Honda 900F. 1997 Yamaha VMax.
    Also owned: 1973 Kawasaki Z1 900, 1972 Honda 750 K, 1976 Yamaha XS 650, 1980 Kawasaki KZ 1000 MKII, 1978 Kawasaki SR 650. Current cage is a 2001 Mustang Bullitt in Dark Highland Green. Bought new in Sept. 2001.

        I never remember any Honda, in the U.S., with those wheels, other than the "turbo's. I sure wish I had a set for my 1100 F, original stuff, but different over here.

            Canadian 1983 CB1100F had the gold Boomerang wheels. 18" front, 17" rear.
            Canadian '83/'84 CX650E had silver Boomerang wheels. 18" front and rear.

            Both the turbos and CX were shaft drive.

            On the 1100F site a pair from Europe show up occasionally in the $400 range.

              IMO, the Canadian version of the 1100f was so much cooler than the US version. The gold wheels, omitted fairing and CBX style gauges made for a better looking bike.

                    The guys I know who change their wheels on CB900F's use CBR600F3 wheels for better brakes and tire sizes

                      I've seen such swaps. For the GS, swapping in GSX-R wheels was the way toward what I wanted. For the 900, I want it to be an alternative but mostly period correct machine.

                        Or a European 1100F if you want plug and play. We also had 900s with silver boomerang wheels and, of course, they'll fit. The VF wheels are a different size (or were here).

                            Ebay.de will be your best bet for hunting in Europe; the 1100 was a very rare beast in the UK. I've only seen 2 over here and I owned one of them.
