The RD350 manual will work for you - everything is pretty much the same.

I turned one of them into a homebuilt TR3 in late '72. Went very well indeed.
My brother registered and rode a TD2 350 on the road in CA in the early 70s. I just found a pictue of it somewhere. It was the vertically split case version. It was way faster than any contemporary street bike. Dan Hanebrink built it and raced it previously. Hanebrink made his own magnesium wheels for it, 16", and he made his own disc brake set up for it. It was way peppy compared to about anything.

So far I havent found a source for 1972 R5 tank decals. Anyone, anywhere in the world, have any ideas where to try? AFE Graphics, Diablo, and a few others Ive found dont seem to have R5 decals.

Decals are laid on top of the Orange and not cleared over. I wish to keep it as 100% true as possible. May have to take the tank somewhere and see if they can be copied..and get a few sets made just in case of a screw up.

I know Diablo carries decals that are not on their website.
              Maybe contact them directly.

Didnt know that Steve. I will give them a call. If they dont maybe they can use my tank for reproduction purposes.

I'm surprised the black is a decal. I can't tell so well from the photo but it looks like the black goes over a compound curved surface and you can't put decals down over surfaces like that or wrinkles will form.

Definite ridge the fingernail grabs when you hit the sides of the black. Already tried that out.

An edge doesn't mean it's a decale. A lot of older paint jobs were single stage and that will leave a mask edge. Mind you I'm not talking about those wide pinstripes, I'm talking about the larger black panel areas.

I would also be surprised if the large black area is a decal. It's huge. It would be extremely hard to lay out w/o wrinkles. Painting the black panel and surrounding stripes would be so much easier. You could do a pencil rub of it, cut it out and use that as a template to lay out the Fine Line masking tape.
