    I believe the "bad cam" was actually a small batch of them that skipped the "heat treating process" from the factory. ( aka soft cams)
    after this many years/miles,if your cams are not trashed yet, they will not melt down on you. ( Honda did warrantee them)
    or so I was told...
    1980 GS1000G - The Beast - GOING... GOING... yup, it's gone. I'm bikeless !!! GAaaahh !!!
    1978 KZ1000C1 Police - GONE !
    1983 GPZ750, aka ZX750A1 - restored, fresh paint... Gave it back, it was a loaner !!!

    I know -JUST- enough to make me REALLY dangerous !

      If it were a bad batch issue, it was one heck of a large batch.

          Stupid. Some of the best motorcycles ever built had V4's in them, the V65 Magna and VMAX are just a couple on that ever growing list. Don't be a hater unless you've ridden a few and experienced them. Smooth and powerful, gobs of torque, not any more difficult to work on that an inline 4. Just cracks me up when people start hating certain bike "configurations", like V4 vs inline 4. You want to hate on a V-twin, now go right ahead! LOL!!!!

            I bought a V-4 Venturer Royale, I messaged you about it. After a month of pondering it (and staring at it in the driveway) I sold it Sunday. Everything I read about cleaning the carbs and what you said about them made me decide to not "venture" down the rabbit hole. I'll stick to inlines

            Oh, and to the OP who asked if there are any good forums (other than GSR) I say not so far as I have seen. I am a member of probably a dozen. Recently I bought a KZ400 and I can tell you that the kz400.com twin forum and KZrider forums are both extreme snoozers, nothing even close to GSR. Literally nothing happening over there
