What to do with the V&H meg off my 82 GPz 750

Trying to get the baffle this happened

Am thinking I'd cut the piece inside off and weld another pipe to the end cap and make a mechanical style baffle out of it.Would close off the remainder of the V&H.I'd knock the rest out but EVERYTHING I've tried just goes into the baffle due to the bends in the meg

Was told that the V&H baffles are hard to remove and replace,my own problems seem to confirm that.I'd rather fix this one than replace it.

Vinegar soak then judicious heating to break the galvanic bond (probably wrong word but you get the idea) between the baffle and the outer pipe is my suggestion. The vinegar should dissolve the rust like it does in gas tanks then heat should expand outer pipe just enough to free the baffle.

Want to do a muriatic bath to get the chrome off anyway as I'd bet that would do the same thing.I just wish ceramic coating was an option but for the cost of doing that here I could get a new pipe
