    New Owner B-KING

Picked this one up yesterday. Been lusting after one for a while now. Almost got one last year, but missed out by a couple days.

Came with original muffler and covers, pillion seat, and original rear fender assembly.

Scorpion cans, frame sliders, new chain/sprockets, powerbronze screen and a cheesy skull tank guard with only 4k on the clock.

For those of you current or past King owners, PCV, Woolich ECU flash or other as your preferred method of tuning? Any must haves or do's? Thought about pulling the evap can or at least slapping a NoS sticker on it...

Also, plugging the Pair line and disconnecting the exhaust valve is a must?

Did similar surgery to the bandit 1250 when i did the Holeshot stage II tune.

    Thanks,

    Nic

Kind'f looks like hood scoops, on the sides of tank, like a V Max Yamaha. Are they functional? I haven't worked on any modern day bikes, but how can the eng. run, if the exhaust valves are disconnected?

Nice bike, I am jealous. I disconnected the pair on my b1200 because the valves went bad and it was causing all kinds of decel pop. Do these have carbs or FI?

Really, you don't need any mods for power. These have such incredible power that power wheelies in third gear at 200 mph are normal. Ride it first and then mod it. I'd even put the stock is exhaust back on.

I owned one for a few years, absolutely incredible power all throughout the RPM band. I really wanted a new VMAX when they came out in 2009, but couldn't justify ponying up 20K to get one. I got this one around 2010 for $7500. It had the ECU reflash to kill the rev limiter, that's the only performance mod that is really needed, except for a better flowing and sounding exhaust obviously, the stock cans are butt ugly IMHO. From 0-100 this thing is quick as lighting, faster than the Busa in the quarter mile, due to some differences in the cams and gearing I believe. The Busa will also do 190 mph and this one tops out around 170 mph, but it'll get there faster! My 2015 VMAX feels faster in roll-ons, and is just as easy to wheelie, either bike is a monster and a blast to ride! You picked a nice one! I've seen a few recently in the 5K range, which is an AWESEME bang for your buck for 160 HP stock from the factory! The one advantage it has over the VMAX is the range, I was getting 130-140 miles out of a tank, barely 110 out of the new VMAX! Anyway you look at it, that's a kick ass machine! Enjoy!

Though I've never loved the aesthetics, I have to say, those are amazing machines.

At 160 Mph you have to say form follows function.

I got mine thinking it would be the best upgrade to the FZ1... It really wasn't. After a decent season with it (+10K miles or more I can't recall) I ended up trading it in for my Concours 14 which I liked a whole lot more. With the ZX-14 re-flash, Full Yoshi and ZX-14 bits my Concours was "faster" for the full fairing held the bike better at +150mph. The B-King was Very Quick but at 140mph it wanted to rip you off the seat. Not overly comfortable for big day ride (+500 mile rides), on that note it was horrible for touring. It was a unique bike for sure and a brawler at that! Stupid quick, handled very well for it's size and pulled wheelies like CRAZY.

I guess now that I'm old (34) I can't justify having such ridiculously quick bike. I have my Bandit 1200 and it is borderline too fast for my VT riding... Guess each their own. It was cool bike and don't regret buying it for I learned allot about what kind of bike I like to ride and what kind of bike I don't like to ride. The B-King despite being one of the coolest machines I've owned was not a bike I liked to ride.

                    Best of luck with yours!

I like the idea of them. Not detuned like so many unfaired versions of power bikes are. I hope that you love it.
