I think the guy who designed this muffler works for Yamaha, Kawasaki and recently designed one for the new Katana...Current Rides: 82 GS1100E, 00 Triumph 955 Speed Triple:twistedevil:, 03 Kawasaki ZRX1200, 01 Honda GL1800, '15 Kawasaki 1000 Versys

I just Googled & looked at a lot of pictures of these bikes. I noticed most have the exhaust out the right side, but many have the exhaust out the left side. Is this something that is optional with these FTR1200's? Just wondering, I still can't find anything I personally like about them.1983 GS1100E, 1983 CB1100F, 1991 GSX1100G, 1996 Kaw. The ones from the Internet that looked like flat track bikes were nice. I wouldnt buy one cause its not my cup of tea, but why couldn't they make a ton of add on acc's that a person can make a look they like, performance stuff too. So you can make it look like this. After reading up on it, there are some options. Pricey, but it has the credentials to be a fun bike

I don't ride flat track and haven't seen one on tv since the 1980s. I thought they were kinda boring; drag race to the corner, slip the rear wheel out with your foot down, balance the bike with the throttle, drag race to the next corner, repeat over and over until checkered flag ends it. Be sure to sit on the upwind side of the filthy dirty seating area.
First look I see a fuk_gly bike with a too long wheelbase and double cans on same side.
Don't inspire pride in my heart for US engineering.

They need to promote Flat Track Racing more. I use to be into Flat Track Racing back in the early 90's with Scott Parker, Larry Pegram... ESPN covered it pretty good. I even went to a race in Parkersburg WV. I always thought it was pretty exciting racing.
As far as the new Indian, I say go for it! The more flavors the better. Next a Cafe Racer? 👍My Motorcycles:

The new FTR still doesn't do it for me and I think is a bit of a bait and switch ploy by Indian...
It's way better (on paper) than the HD offerings I rode the snot out of last year (the XG750 Street-Rod and the XR1200) for it makes well over 100hp in a not so heavy bike.
I would need to ride one to know if I'm sold or not. I don't think it would ride like the XR1200 for it's lighter and makes more power... Also modern day water-cooling and a 6 speed transmission FTW!
With some cool looking bikes coming out for Triumph and expanding their already successful Bonneville line you can tell these trend setters have the right formula.

Now I can't give Triumph a Pass, @ 19.3K miles the Transmission needs to be replaced for 6th gear has destructed on my 2018 Bonneville T120... This is warranty claim #2 the first being a leaking radiator which triumph replaced @9K miles.
I have a 3 year unlimited mile warranty and Triumph told me they have never seen anyone put that many miles on a T120 that quickly. I was told that Triumph would be covering the issue no problem. My "local" dealer told me they have yet to see a T120 they have sold that has that many miles on it (started selling this model in 2016). They also told me at this rate I would have over 75K miles by the time the warranty expires... I said that sounded about right.
The good news is the bike is AWESOME to ride, ergonomics are perfect, power delivery is spot on for what I need and the Tech is ridiculous and now that I have it I can't imagine riding without it...

God the production model is so Fugly... The exhuast seriously looks like it was hobbled together, using a scrambler type exhaust would not have been hard to, Triumph does it on their Scrambler models.... There is a complete lack of detail on the production motor, the suspension is so Ninja 650 I find a need to look away, The bar to seat is way off... Looks more like a bobber than a "FTR"
I need to ride it to know if I like it but aesthetically it misses the mark, in a big way.Jedz Moto
