    79 ke100 will not fire

    Hey all

I'm really struggling with trying to figure out why this bike will not fire. I've cleaned the carb and checked the coil.I have since replaced the spark plug, spark plug cap, points and condenser, and still nothing. When i had the points set incorrectly the bike DID have spark but would not start even with ether. I have since adjusted the points correctly and now the bike DOES NOT have spark. All the switches are working fine. When i got the bike it ran great other then oil fouling the plugs every 20ish miles.

The previous owner said he rebuilt the top end. Is it possible the piston shifted on the crank and now the timing is off?

I've tried everything i could think of short of setting the bike on fire...

It would seem to me that the timing could be checked under a cover somewhere via a mark on the end of the crank. Fouling a plug every 20 miles? NOT GOOD. First thing I'd do is run a compression test on it. If it fails, pull the head and take a gander down the cylinder bore and if it looks clean I'd suspect the reed valve.
