82 GS450T. Started life with me as something left out in the yard for 25 years...I was looking for a project with the parameters of 'how cool for how little $$$'. almost 10 years later, it has of course exceeded my original cool vs. cost goal.IMG_20200702_190919.jpg

This is the one i used it weighs nothing at all and the cranking power is unreal. Always a good idea to purchase a new rectifier if using a lithium battery as well.

Nice bike! I love twins. Never even wanted and inline 4. Carbs too much of a pain. Even my modern Suzuki is the SV650 which is a twin. Does the ton without hesitation so why would I want more?

Here's my latest project the day I brought it home about a month ago, 82 GS450txz. It's "That time of the month" and my bandwidth is being throttled for a few more days, I'm taking pictures and documenting my progress. https://i.imgur.com/ZnasQjf.jpg

Thanks for the compliment! The first thing I did was raise the needle by removing the plastic spacer. That cured the bogging in the mid range I experienced. I then replaced the 115 main jet with a 117.5 and then a 120. Those changes were less dramatic. The bike runs great and sounds amazing. Not too terribly loud but definitely a enjoyable exhaust note.

Guest repliedsolarae - your bike looks nice and clean, the 450E tank will really tie it together. What jets are you using with those pods and exhaust?
