Weird Oil Leak
My 450L has about 28K on it and runs like a champ. She's kept inside, babied, riden to and from work The problem I'm having now is locating an oil leak. I took her out for a ride last night and right after I parked there was a drip underneath on the left side under the shifter. I checked, the shifter seal isn't leaking. There is oil sprayed under the carbs. Any ideas? I've poked around and can't find anything.1981 GS 450L

Clean everything really well, dry completely, then, take some powder and dust the area where the oil may be coming from, go on a little ride, the leak should reveal itself. Oil leaks can be difficult to locate sometimes.
The other thing I thought is if it's from the left side, it could be the clutch pushrod oil seal also as that's behind the sprocket cover along with the shifting shaft oil seal.
Depending on your road grime build up, it could be hard to check the ones behind the sprocket cover, so you may need a ton of degreaser in there first.1982 GS450E - The Wee Beastie

Checked that too. I replaced it last year so I checked it to make sure I didn't put it in wrong. The cam tensioner is sounding like a good possibility since its spraying the bottom of the carbs. The seal doesn't look like its too hard to replace.1981 GS 450L
