Sure, you can JB Weld it, but you have to be asking yourself:
"WHEN this breaks (not if it breaks), how much damage will happen?

Are you feeling LUCKY?
I would not even turn the engine over by hand, let alone run it with that repaired guide in there.

If worst comes to worst you could fabricate one with some tough bread board sort of material, but I don't know that I would trust that still.
Personally I'd fork out the $78.45 to Boulevard Suzuki and get a new one.

Okay here is what I discovered that guide is like a case saver for the valve cover. It just JB welded the entire thing down. Its got enough surface area I think it will be fine. I will put the screws in it as well. And yes I did prep it before I used the JB weld on it.

It may smash into pieces and do little damage, or it could seize your cam chain and therefore your motor at full noise...
That's just my opinion of course, but sounds very risky to me when there are much safer options that are inexpensive...1982 GS450E - The Wee Beastie

I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it.

Guys it fine. It's prob stronger than the original one. And it doesn't get very hot. It's got both the epoxy and and screws holding it in. I even pulled out the screws and tried move it an it's in there solid. It's not coming out easly. That's fine if it needs to be replaced you just need a new valve cover no big deal.
