    Gs450 cam cover gasket

    Gents,

In the middle of replacing the cam cover gasket on my GS450 when I noticed the flange on the four rubber, half-round shaped plugs. I need to know if the flange goes on the inside of the cam case. It seems it can go either way, but could be forced out under pressure if they were on the outside.

    Thanks, GS450SJIP

Factory setup is with the flange on the outside. Use a wee dab of case sealer (NOT RTV) to hold them in place and they'll stay just fine.

If there's room between the end of the camshaft and the head, many of us do indeed flip them around for that extra bit of security.

      bwringer,

Thanks for the response. I do have plenty of room on the inside, so that's where I'll put them. gs450sjip
