Right cover crankshaft seal

I'm sure there's a thread about this already but I need some advice on removing and installing the seal in the right cover for the crankshaft. do I absolutely need a special tool?

Also, are you talking about the crankshaft seal or a seal in the crankshaft cover?

On my 750E, I was able to pull out the crankshaft seal by drilling a couple of small pilot holes, screwing in some drywall screw (just a few mm), and then yanking it out. Installing the new seal is more difficult, as it needs to be driven in very carefully and evenly or you mess up the outer rubber stuff.

My bike is an 81 gs450t. I'm talking about taking off the right cover and the seal that comes off with the cover, I noticed it was leaky when I was getting the cover off. by the way, my clutch rod got bent by my chain when it popped off on a bumpy road(I should have had it tighter). The rod is bent in such a way that I can't Pull it thru the clutch. Do you think it's safe to try and cut the rod with a Dremel or is there a better way to remove it
