I dropped my oil pan today to put a helicoil in my drain hole. In the bottom of my pan i found a very small spring, real skinny and about 2 inches long. And i found a flat piece of old rubber, "half circle" shape. What is it?

The spring is likely from the starter clutch.

The rubber "half circle" is likely from the end of the cylinder head, at the end of the cam. We call them "half moons". While not a common occurrence, it is not unheard of to have one fall down the cam chain tunnel in the middle. Good that it fell all the way through, without getting caught up in the cam chain.
