Missing Clutch cable parts
I’m trying to install a clutch cable on my 81 450. It appears I am missing a couple of parts. On the end that connects to the sprocket housing I am missing a spring and some kind of nut that connects the cable to the actuator. I was looking at bike cliffs website and saw the instructions for a 550 and that’s how I determined I was missing the parts. Now, on the microfiche at Partzilla.com, I can’t locate either the spring or the nut. Any help please?Tags: None

In the "clutch" tab of the fishe it shows a spring. The nut typically comes with the cable If I'm understanding your problem correctly.Ed
To measure is to know.

There is no hardware to connect the cable to the actuator. It feeds into the top of it and a tab (on the right side in fig 4.14) is bent under to keep it from dropping too far down.clutch.jpg1980 Yamaha XS1100G (Current bike)

That’s a picture I haven’t been able to find. In my service manual it doesn’t even reference the cable assembly. Is there any chance you could enlarge it? When I zoom it is too blurry to make out.

That came from the Haynes repair manual, you can download it here: http://gsarchive.bwringer.com/1980 Yamaha XS1100G (Current bike)
