    Help identify correct engine timing

    It's a 1982 GS650G
I set up my timing according to the Suzuki manual and everything looks OK except that I feel like when my crank is on 1-4 T mark, my EX cam arrow 1 is flush with the head surface, and there are 20 rollers between the cams 2 and 3 arrows, yet my IN cam arrow 3 is not 100% vertical. Also, there are marks on the camshaft ends and they are not lined with the head surface as well (I know the book says nothing about those but I am still concerned hence this post here).

With electronic Transistor Controlled Ignition, there's not much to worry about, if everything's attached properly.

I wouldn't puzzle too much expecting TI (ignition) to match cam positions...the spark's timing is changed as the bike speeds up* anyways

So, just double-check the cam-chain links per the manual's diagram and you should be good to go.

*(by counterweights swinging out "centrifigally" on your 650,I think)

If you think the timing is out, you can always check that cylinders 1 & 4 are at top dead center when the T mark lines up. The ignition unit carrying the marks is located by a pin in a slot. I've seen them quite badly worn so they can be slightly out.
