530 Chain for 1977 gs750b
Hello good people. I want to move to a 530 chain for my 77. 750. From what I gather going through previous posts, 18 front 50 rear sprockets with a 116 link 530 chain should work. Does this sound right?. Also would any kind of shim/washer needed for the 750 B ? Tia.Tags: None

Your numbers look good. You could go down on the rear sprocket to 49, but that's splitting hairs.
I'm not sure if shimming the front sprocket is needed or not. Some OEM sprockets have an offset built into them, in which case shimming is needed, since aftermarket sprockets are typically flat. Both 630 and 530 sprockets are the same width, (the 3 means 3/8" wide rollers), so you have that going for you.Ed
