    valvetrain noise?

Wondering if this sounds familiar or identifiable to anyone--loudest in the vicinity of #3 exhaust--at 1200 RPMs occurrence is about 150 / minute. I'll pull the valve cover for a look soon but thought I'd poll the wise heads here in the meantime.

Valve clearances should be good as it hasn't been that long since I did them (maybe 2-3K miles?).

    thanks
    Mike

Classic cam walk. Forget about it.

Ah thanks Grimly, that allowed me to know what I'm searching for--here's a past thread describing it (and some fixes) for anyone else who sees this and wants to understand it:

This hasn't come up for a while, but I thought I'd start a discussion. The video below is my 1983 GS850G, but the engine is actually from a 1980 or 1981 model. Long story, but this is the engine that's been in my bike for about 40,000 - 50,000 miles. Anyway, these engines are known to sometimes exhibit "cam walk"

And bwringer's (as ever) excellent doc explaining the fix, only minor machining required:

      Cheers everyone!

If you look in your owner's manual, they are supposed to be checked every 3000 miles.
If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space.

Ha thanks. Probably hasn't been quite that much, but it's due for a lot more than that anyway, and will be going under the knife next winter latest, I think. Since I bought the VFR nothing else has been getting extended miles on the clock...
