I'm in the middle of rebuilding a couple of GS550e, an early 5 speed and later 6 speed. I'm finding the cam timing doesn't line up with the arrows as per the manual and I've lost the photos I took on strip down. Showed these to a local garage and they said I'm one tooth out, but I tried adjusting one tooth either way and the marks end up even further out. I've checked TDC with a DTI and I'm happy that the timing T mark on the crank is perfectly aligned. I usually check against the notched cut outs in the end the cams but this method doesn't allow the arrows to line up with the flat face of the cylinder head (as per manual). Am I out or is this just how 550s are? Never have this problem with my 750 they always line up perfectly..... Cheers! Matt
