Another Cam timing thread

    Well, time to let you all know the results.

    The bike still runs (that's the good news).

    The bad news is I still have a drop in power at 5k RPM's

    So, I don't think the cam being off was the issue and I still have to try to track down what it is.


    I'm not sure where to go from here honestly. The intake system has new intake boots (engine side) with new O rings, the carbs are jetted correctly for the 550T according to the factory shop manual, I don't see any openings between the airbox and the intake side of the carbs. I'm just puzzled...

      You might want to check that your ignition timing is advancing all the way as it should.

        Was the timing actually correct in those last images? It looks like the arrow might be slightly low like you said but I'd like to know what others think because I'm having some issues getting my timing right and if what's pictured is correct then I have to adjust mine.
