I got almost all of my money back but the entire process was a real pain so it's not like I feel good about it. It's hard for me to say the guy "came though" when he was so indignant about honoring the return and he never said he was sorry for shipping me a junk head and packing it with no padding in the first place.Ed

Russr33 and I traded cylinder heads here recently and to pack it a good sturdy box with a piece of foam rubber egg crate stuff on the bottom was used. That box went from LA to Houston, back to LA, and I used it one more time to send this guy back the head in question. Damn good box if I must say so myself.Last edited by Nessism; 05-09-2010, 01:52 PM.Ed

Sorry to hear of your eBay mishap - sometimes people just don't think.
I bought an SV1000 complete stock exhaust off eBay, when it arrived there was a header pipe sticking out of the box! It had split open and the post office taped it back up. The mufflers were packed in with the head pipes with 1, get that 1, piece of newspaper in between. The once-perfect mufflers looked like 100 monkeys had been beating on it with 100 hammers for 100 days. They ended up in the garbage, and the seller was not exactly apologetic, stating that he "had no experience in shipping anything, so didn't know how to pack a box".
Hmpf.

Hello;
Along the same vein as this thread, using a 1100 G head on a GS1000. I have the cylinders and head from a 1982 1100 GK that I thought of using on a 78 GS1000, maybe using stock 1100 pistons if I can find a set. Would be cheaper than boring and buying a larger piston, such as a 1166 kit. The holes all seemed to line up with those on the 1000. Any thoughts on this approach,
Also as for ebay. I've had too many times buying items that weren't described correctly or had lousy pics. Mostly when buying Brit bike parts, especially from the UKLast edited by Guest; 05-10-2010, 07:45 PM.
