    cam chain measurment

Does anyone have a NEW cam chain ('80 GS 1000 G)on their bench ? Could you measure as accurately as possible in millimeters , and post, the measurement between 20 pins and also approximately measure the side deflection of the chain over 20 pins. Thanks ! !
I think these measurements would be usefull for assesing the condition of used chains. More usefull than the absolute limit given in the service manual.
    cheers

The DID219FTS cam chain has a .306" pitch. Std. length between 20 pins is 6.120" and the service manual lists the max. allowable length of 6.213" which translates into 1.5% allowable elongation.

    To measure is to know.
