I've heard of people over boring 650 cylinders and installing them on a 550 but there are "issues".
Sounds like a lot of work and expense to make an old bike slightly faster. If you want truly fast, I recommend a larger and/or newer bike.Ed

The 550 goes to 699cc, with a better more efficient combustion chamber design, and bigger ports and carbs. The anemic 550 becomes a rocket while maintaining it's light weight, shorter wheelbase and six speed transmission.
