    oil temperature

Just wondering what is "normal" oil temp for a gs? Mine got to around 250 today and was wondering if that was about right?

A friend/engine builder today told me 180-200F is optimal. I just installed an oil temp guage so I'll see for myself.

250 is getting up there, but 300+ is not unusual if you get stuck in traffic on a hot day.

My GS used to get this hot on a long run or sitting in traffic.
I installed an oil cooler and it runs much cooler now, making me feel much more comfortable.
