    Clutch Nut

My '83 GS1100ES has a vibration at idle which I assuming is an indication of the clutch housing center nut being too loose.

Does anyone have the torque spec for tightening?

    thanks

Most of the members say that you should replace that with an APE hd nut... The threads stretch and won't hold torque on the factory one... or so I have been told...

The 1150 nut is supposed to be better ?? How does it run? Try syncing the carbs first
Not sure on the torque But would say 75-80 ft lbs

Service manual has the spec. I think it's in the 50 ft-lbs range.

Gold Hat: Hola, senor. We are Federales. You know, the mounted police.
Dobbs: If you're the police, where are your ape nuts?
Gold Hat: Ape nuts? We ain't got no ape nuts! We don't need no ape nuts. I don't have to show you any stinkin' ape nuts!
