    clutch shifting problems still

Still having shifting problems with wifes' 450. New chain, oil, clutch springs, cable and cleaned plates. Still haven't got it on the road yet, and it does shift better, but still have to rock bike at times to get it to pop into gear. Tried to adjust chain tension as in manual, but have not had chain driven in awhile. Adjusted screw inside side cover till just feel tension and then back off little more than 1/8., adjusted cable at bottom where goes into side cover (that helped some), adjusted at lever. Just reading thread in here about chain tension, could that be a effecting shifting even when bike is sitting while not running? thanks much! terrylee

yes mate, check chain and sprocket condition, if it looks dodgy then replace them. if they look ok lubricate them and tension the chain properly.
make sure you have about 1/2" to 1" play on the bottom run of the chain while you are sat on the bike

Just remember, an opinion without 3.14 is just an onion!
