    correct chain and sprockets?

    for a 1983 GS750T, not sure what the equivalent chain kit would be in the uk, anyone have a clue? The lists only go to a 1980 GS750 in the UK, so, what other models have the same chain and sprockets? Or are they all much the same on the 750's ? Oh, and are they more cost effective to buy from the USA and get shipped over to the UK ? It costs about £120 (@ $180 ) for D.I.D O-ring chain and sprockets here.

    you can get it for a lot cheaper than that if you shop about, try ebay or just google it. i got a did 530 conversion chain and sprockets for £80 on ebay. you dont need an oring chain if you look after it
    1978 GS1085.

      I'd contact Z1 Enterprises -- I know they ship to the UK, and they will be able to send you the correct goodies.

      Z1 Enterprises specializes in quality Motorcycle parts for Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha Classic Japanese motorcycles from the 1970's and 1980's.


      I believe they have ads in the British vintage bike mags with a UK phone number, too.

        Your bike came with 630 size chain and sprockets. You can still purchase parts this sizes but modern 530, or even 520, sized chains and sprockets are more than strong enough for the application and cheaper as well. A place like Z1 Enterprises should be able to hook you up - you will need a front sprocket spacer if you go to 530. That said, there is nothing wrong with 630 per say and $180 for a DID chain and new sprockets isn't all that bad - only about $20 more than Z1.

          Agree about Z1.

          Whenever I order stuff from them it flies across the Atlantic quicker than the Post Office sorts itself out as well. There's always the risk of the customs / VAT guys stinging you for a million pennies but I've yet to be caught yet.
