R the 2 and 4 valve heads interchangable

If this guy will call me back I will have a 87 gs1000 and was wondering if anyone knew if the 2 valve engine will accept the 4 valve head?? I have a 82 gs1100 cruiser shaft drive.

Even if it would somehow bolt on you would have a problem with valve pockets in the pistons. A simple piston swap might take care of that but Chef gave it to you short and sweet, no.

No doubt, just saying even if it would bolt on there are other problems that would have to be addressed. It's not as simple as just dropping a head on. Cam sprockets are probably different too which would open another can of worms.

yes... a lot of difference but still a moot point if nothing can be made to fit over the studs wouldn't ya say

There were some folks that adapted the air/oil cooled GSX-R head to the GS1100/GS1150 engine. My understanding is that it really didn't produce a significant improvement in performance for the effort.
