    Cam chain tensioner seal

On my '81 GS850G, there is, under the large nut that is below the external spring & knob of the cam chain tensioner, a flat rubber seal (not an o-ring). It is a rather thin item. This part is not available as a separate item & not shown in parts diagram as a replaceable item.

Mine is not in the best of shape & I believe it is leaking due to being partially deteriorated.

Any ideas as to how to get a replacement seal?

    Thank you!

The lock nut o-ring? It used to be an o-ring at least.

The two I've changed out were o-rings and I bought them at an o-ring supplier store. Less than a buck.

THANK YOU bwringer. That is exactly what I needed to see but did not. Once I was blind, now I can see.
