    Shim help needed!!!

    Hi all,

I am going around in circles trying to find a 2.65x shim. I PM'd about the shim club and have not received and answer as to how this works. Do I just send money with the size(s) I need? I have also tried calling machine shops to see if they could thin the one I have down. No luck.

    Need some help badly!

You can either send $10 to cover the membership in the club or trade out shims and pay for the postage. It's a great deal and helped me immensely. I'm sure GhostGS1 will be getting back to you shortly

You can't order the "X" shims from any dealer. If you really have to have an X shim, you will have to find one in a private collection or go through the box of shims at your dealer.

Let me check my stock tonight to see if I have one I can send you.

X shims are nice if you want to get the clearance perfect, but they are not strictly necessary as long as you error on the side of more clearance, not less. Personally, I measure shims using a micrometer to find in between sizes since I have a fair number in stock, but it's not worth the hassle of trying to order in between sizes.
