According to my service manual, normal is 40.4 and toss is 38.8. Mine were 37.2. The new springs were 41.2 and boy did it make a difference in the riding. Did not even know there was a problem just ordered them on the suggestion of Cliff's welcome page.

Check your clutch springs
While ordering some parts for a job I am working on, I also threw in an order for new clutch springs. Well they came in today and I decided to toss em in this evening.

New springs are great, my 650 was slipping slightly under full throttle before changing springs. Great part was they were cheap, around $3 each. Like yours, they were slightly under specs. Others have resorted to using extra washers to increase pressure, I like things stock.
