    valves

Is it possible that my valve clearance is still good after 3000 miles or did I measure wrong?

    #2
    Yes, it's possible.

If they needed an actual change of shims every 3,000 miles, it would only be about 50,000 miles or so before drastic measures would have to be taken, like trimming the ends of the valves.

Valve clearances will change the most when components are new and not fully seated. This includes when NEW and after any major head work, like new valves and/or seats in the head.

Just because they did not change during this 3,000 mile interval does not mean that it won't change during the next interval, so don't skip on checking them.
