    Gs1000s gearing

Gs1000s on stock gearing is 15/42 ok.
trouble is now its a 1085cc it pulls it well easley ,so i put a 16tooth front sprox on it
but on a a motorway its still a shade to low.
what if i get 41tooth rear sprox with a 16tooth front sprox.
or can i get a 17tooth front sprox but i dont think there is enough clearance.

Usually 1 tooth on the front sprocket is about equivalent to about 3 teeth on the rear sprocket (in the case of the 1000 it is 2.8). So having a 16 tooth on the front is already equivalent to 3 teeth less on the rear sprocket. So to come down only 1 tooth on the rear I doubt that you will feel much difference. I would come down at least 2 teeth to a 40 tooth sprocket and see what that feels like.

There are lots of guys on this site with bored out 1000s, check their specs and see what gearing they are running. Send a few PMs to them and get some feed back.

If you check the signatures of other members from their posts you can usually see which ones have modded GS1000s.
